Discovering Ayat al-Kursi: A Quranic Gem
One of the most powerful and beloved Quranic verses is Ayat al-Kursi (2:255). Start with its meaning for those unfamiliar.
Al-Kursi says:
"No deity exists save Allah, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. No sleep or weariness affects Him. Everything in heaven and earth belongs to Him. Who can interfere without His permission? Nothing escapes His knowledge of the past, present, and future. He doesn't tired of preserving the heavens and earth with His Kursi. He is Most High, Most Great."
This passage perfectly conveys Allah's oneness and splendour. He has unequalled power, knowledge, and authority over everything.
Surah Al-Baqarah has other gems:
Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail plead to Allah for obedience and guidance for their lineage in verses 127-128.
Verse 151-157 encourages patience and prayer and assures believers of Allah's assistance.
As a light of faith, Ayat al-Kursi guides believers. It reminds us of Allah's majesty and encourages us to seek His guidance in all aspects of life.
